THE WICKED & THE DIVINE

A project exploring the influence of ecclesiastic art on the visual aesthetic of death metal. Initially composed as a series of six pieces, in which I integrated custom typography into various historic artworks that depicted the more fantastical side of ecclesiastic paintings, this was as much an exercise in curation as it was creation. After the initial design release I created a complimentary booklet highlighting each piece, with relevant accreditation, displayed in a format that continued the themes of the work and furthered the marriage of the seemingly unrelated practices.
